Swing it Viewer cannot import movies
I installed Swing it Viewer but I cannot open any movie files (avi/mov/moov). What’s going on?
Answer
Swing it Viewer can only open Swing it Documents (that has been saved with Swing it or Swing it Pro). Swing it Viewer is mainly intended to be used by students who have received a Swing it Dcoument from their instructor.
If you would like to test Swing it or Swing it Pro prior to buying them in Mac App Store, then please download a demo of Swing it.

Swing it crashes in Lion (Mac OS X 10.7)
I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) and suddenly the Swing it app crashes when I import a movie. What is going on?
Answer
At the moment there is a problem in Lion with a video codec named 3ivx that has a version number prior to 5.0.4. This video codec crashes all Quicktime-based applications. See http://www.3ivx.com/ and http://forums.3ivx.com/index.php?showtopic=126440
3ivx.com has released a new version (5.0.4) of their video codec that is compatible with Lion. If you have a prior version installed on your system, download the new version from http://www.3ivx.com/download/macos.html
More information: http://www.3ivx.com/support/tbd_504.html
You can fix this problem by removing the 3ivx codec from the /Library/Quicktime/ folder
To open /Library/Quicktime/ in Lion you can
Either choose Go to Folder... in the Go menu in the Finder and paste the string above
Or press the <option> key while choosing the Go menu in the Finder and choose the Library folder and then the Quicktime folder
The file should be named something like 3ivx
It seems that some camera or program packages installs this video codec, although at the moment I'm not sure which one.
When 3ivx.com releases a new version of their codec that is compatible with Lion you can install that video codec again.
